Sparq provides accessible collaboration opportunities within the local ecosystem, such as physical space (coworking and suites), networking events, and shared ecosystem and community resources. We are currently looking to build our catalog of resource providers to better serve our entrepreneur and startup community.

Sparq Labs
Nestled in Winston-Salem’s thriving Innovation Quarter, Sparq Labs offers premium biotech lab space for rent. Our state-of-the-art biotech facility provides the perfect environment for biotechnology companies, researchers, and entrepreneurs. We offer adaptable leasing options for our biotech lab spaces, with customizable laboratory modules ranging from 300 to 2,500 sq ft, ensuring flexibility for organizations of all sizes and stages of growth.
Integrated within a vibrant entrepreneurial community, Sparq Labs tenants have access to two complimentary Sparq memberships and 15 hours of Sparq conference room access (Bailey Power Plant) per month. Additional amenities include access to Sparq community resources such as SparqConnects as well as other networking opportunities.

Programming
Sparq’s programming resources are targeted at growing and supporting the entrepreneurial nd startup ecosystem of Winston-Salem. Programs include a range of topics and formats including one-on-one sessions, workshops, networking opportunities and special entrepreneurial events that take place throughout Sparq.

Sparq partners with Vision to Venture to present three different series of programs, each providing practical help for people starting, running and growing their own businesses–at no cost.
Ask an Expert
Who: Sparq Members
When: Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Each week features a subject expert who helps Sparq members (Sparq Coworking, Sparq Suites and Sparq Labs) one-on-one with specific questions or challenges they face. Experts provide advice in areas like finances, marketing, operations, technology and more. Appointments are 40 minutes long and must be made in advance.
Sparq Speaks
Who: General Public
When: Quarterly
This speaker series is free and open to the public and will feel like a fireside chat with industry leaders and experts. Topics will vary, and each event will be followed by a time to network.
Sparq Works
Who: General Public
When: Every second Tuesday from 12 to 2 p.m.
Sparq’s monthly workshops will focus on hands-on, practical applications. Workshop facilitators will provide expertise in their fields with a goal of providing practical steps that are immediately applicable to a business. Workshops are free and open to the public.
Sparq hosts a number of programs for members and tenants that are intended to build community by giving people opportunities to connect in a casual environment.
Crane Room Connections

Crane Room Connections brings together Sparq tenants and members, with the goal of helping start-ups, entrepreneurs and small businesses thrive at Sparq. Sponsored by a member of the Sparq community, these events provide space to gather in the beautiful Crane Room of Sparq over coffee and breakfast, inspiring conversations that build community and collaboration.
Third Thursdays
Who: Sparq Members
When: Every Third Thursday
What’s the most important ingredient for building community? Food. Once a month, join other Sparq members in the Crane Room for a free lunch. Sparq will provide the food, and you provide the sparkling conversation. It’s an opportunity to meet up with other Sparq members and build your relationships.
Sparq hosts a number of community-driven programs that support entrepreneurs and promote the growth of community. Some happen monthly, some annually, but they’re always a good time.
Womenpreneur Wednesdays
Who: Women entrepreneurs
When: Second and Fourth Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Techstars Startup Weekend
Who: Anyone with interest in entrepreneurship
When: August 28-30, 2006
Techstars is a global startup accelerator program that pairs early-stage entrepreneurs with venture capital for rapid scalability. One of their key programs is Techstars Startup Weekends, which are hosted by organizations all over the globe. Vision to Venture, a local nonprofit, organizes Startup Weekends hosted at Sparq Coworking. These 54-hour events are perfect for anyone interested in what being an entrepreneur is all about–whether you have a business idea or enjoy supporting those that do.
